Mazda RX-7 FC 13B Turbo Manifold
Developed specifically for Mazda RX-7 FC 13B applications, the Walton Motorsport FC Turbo Manifold provides a modern single-turbo platform designed around the substantial exhaust-flow requirements of Mazda's rotary engine.
Using 54.76 mm ID runners, modern Garrett V-band turbo fitment and a high-priority 50 mm external wastegate arrangement, the manifold is designed for responsive, high-performance street, track and competition FC builds.
Mazda 13B Turbo Manifold - Designed Specifically for the RX-7 FC
Following the development of Walton Motorsport's FD 13B manifold, this version was created specifically around the packaging requirements of the earlier FC RX-7 chassis.
Rather than treating the FC as simply another 13B application, the manifold provides a dedicated turbo position and exhaust layout around which the rest of the FC's single-turbo system can be built.
Large 54.76 mm ID Runners
Rotary engines produce substantial exhaust gas volume and heat, particularly as boost and engine speed increase.
The FC manifold uses 54.76 mm internal-diameter runners, providing the exhaust-flow capacity required for serious turbocharged 13B combinations.
The large runner size makes the manifold well suited to performance-focused rotary builds where maintaining exhaust-flow capacity at higher engine speeds and power levels is a priority.
Mazda 13B Turbo Manifold - Modern Garrett Turbo Options
The current manifold is available with a Garrett V-band turbo inlet suitable for:
- G25
- G30
- G35
- GTX30
- GTX35
This gives the FC builder considerable scope to tailor the turbocharger around the intended character of the car, from a more response-focused combination through to larger setups where greater airflow and outright power become the priority.
Mazda 13B Turbo Manifold - High-Priority 50 mm Wastegate
Boost control is particularly important on a high-flow rotary combination.
The FC manifold uses a curved, high-priority 50 mm external wastegate arrangement, developed to provide the wastegate with strong access to exhaust flow and help control boost creep.
The 50 mm wastegate flange is already fitted, and the manifold is optimised around the Turbosmart Gen-V ProGate50.
Mazda 13B Turbo Manifold - FC or FD 13B?
Although both are designed around the Mazda 13B, the Walton Motorsport FC and FD manifolds are fundamentally different turbo-system configurations.
The FC manifold uses a single Garrett V-band turbo connection and single 50 mm external wastegate, making it suited to G25/G30/G35 and GTX30/35-style combinations.
The FD manifold uses a divided T4 configuration with separate exhaust paths and twin 40 mm wastegates, designed around larger-frame turbo combinations such as the BorgWarner S300.
The correct manifold should therefore be selected around the vehicle and intended turbo system, not simply because both cars use a 13B.
Building Your FC Mazda 13B Turbo System
The manifold forms the foundation of a custom single-turbo RX-7 FC installation. Turbocharger, wastegate, downpipe, intake, charge system, fuel system and engine management should all be specified around the engine build and intended use of the vehicle.

Material Selection
Every Walton Motorsport manifold starts with carefully selected 304 stainless steel tubing. Not all 304 stainless is manufactured to the same standard, and the quality of the tubing plays a critical role in the durability of the finished product.
Turbo manifolds are subjected to thousands of extreme heat cycles throughout their life. Lower-quality tubing can fatigue over time, and we've seen inferior materials crack or split along the welded seam under these conditions. That's why we specify the exact tube grade and wall characteristics we know will perform reliably in demanding street and motorsport applications.
Our cylinder head flanges are designed in-house and precision cut using modern fibre laser technology, providing exceptional dimensional accuracy and repeatability. Compared to traditional CO₂ laser cutting, fibre laser cutting delivers cleaner edges and tighter tolerances, ensuring an accurate fit and consistent sealing.
Manufacturing Process
Port-Matched Flange Construction
Rather than simply welding the runners to the face of the flange, Walton Motorsport machines each runner to pass through the flange before it is TIG welded from both sides. The ports are then hand-finished to produce a smooth, uninterrupted transition from the cylinder head into the runner.
This manufacturing method delivers several important advantages:
- Increased weld strength and long-term durability.
- Improved gas flow by eliminating abrupt transitions.
- A smoother change from the oval exhaust port to the round runner.
- Reduced turbulence for improved exhaust efficiency.
The result is a manifold that is stronger, flows better, and is built to withstand years of hard use.
Cast Merge Collector
At the heart of every Walton Motorsport manifold is our proprietary cast merge collector, designed entirely in-house.
Our latest collector design delivers the highest wastegate flow we've achieved while maintaining excellent merge efficiency into the turbine. The internal geometry provides smooth gas transitions, minimising turbulence and helping to reduce exhaust gas temperatures without sacrificing performance.
Unlike fabricated collectors assembled from multiple sections, our one-piece cast design eliminates internal joints and welds within the collector itself. This not only optimises gas flow but also significantly improves structural integrity, reducing the likelihood of collector failures that can damage turbochargers or engines.
