Turbosmart PowerGate60 WG60 60mm External Wastegate

If you’re searching for a 60mm wastegate, a big external wastegate, or the legendary PowerGate60, this is it.

The Turbosmart PowerGate60 GenV is a motorsport-proven 60mm external wastegate designed for high-boost, high-flow turbocharger systems where precise boost control matters more than peak dyno numbers.

At Walton Motorsport, we recommend the PowerGate60 for serious street builds, drag cars, circuit cars and high power turbo applications where boost stability is critical — especially during run-in tuning or low boost mapping.

Why a 60mm Wastegate?

A larger 60mm external wastegate provides:

• Greater exhaust bypass capacity
• Improved boost control at lower boost pressures
• Reduced boost creep on high-flow manifolds
• Stability on large turbocharger setups

But remember — a larger wastegate improves control, not power.
If the manifold design is poor, no gate size will fix it.

What Makes the GenV PowerGate60 Different?

The GenV lineup was never a small revision — it’ was a ground-up redesign and argulably the last word on pneumatic wastegates. Turbosmart really did knock it out of the park!

The only feature retained from Gen4 is mounting orientation. Everything else was re-engineered using CFD and in-house flow bench validation.

Key Improvements:

• Class-leading thermal performance
• CFD validated flow path
• Nitronic 60 valve guide
• 347 stainless steel body
• 17-7 PH stainless steel springs
• Optional liquid cooling ports
• Strap-type V-band clamps
• Collar-locking cap system
• 360° actuator cap rotation

The modular cap and base allow full 360-degree rotation, making boost reference routing simple in tight engine bays.

Direct Fit for Gen4 PowerGate60

Upgrading from a Gen4?

The inlet and outlet orientation remains the same, meaning the GenV is a direct replacement upgrade.

What’s Included

• GenV PowerGate60 Wastegate
• Full spring kit (3, 5, 7, 14 psi)
• 1 spring pre-installed
• SS316 valve seat
• V-Band clamps
• Inlet & outlet weld flanges
• Collar locking tool
• 1/8” NPT plugs and fittings
• Mounting hardware

Everything required for installation is included in the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to use the liquid cooling ports?

No.

Liquid cooling is optional and generally only required for extreme endurance or restricted airflow environments.

The GenV already features:

• CFD-optimised heat management
• Thermal isolating ceramic spacers
• One of the most thermally stable diaphragms available

For most performance builds, liquid cooling is not necessary.

Can the actuator housing be rotated?

Yes.

The ProGate50 GenV allows full 360° actuator rotation.

This enables cleaner hose routing, improved heat avoidance and neater engine bay packaging — particularly in tight turbo setups.

Will the GenV PowerGate60 fit where my Gen4 did?

Yes.

The mounting orientation remains unchanged for straightforward upgrades.

What size are the boost reference ports?

All boost reference and optional cooling ports are 1/8” NPT.

Stainless hose tail fittings are included, with the option to upgrade to -3AN or -4AN motorsport plumbing.

Is a 60mm wastegate too big?

The bigger the gate, the more control you have and it's pretty much as simple as that. A big gate does not mean big horsepower, rather it provides allot of bypass ability which means potential for lower power levels and better torque management.

Why Buy From Walton Motorsport?

As a UK-based turbo manifold manufacturer working with Turbosmart systems daily, we don’t just resell wastegates — we specify them.

If you’re unsure whether a 45mm, 50mm or 60mm gate is correct for your turbocharger and manifold combination, contact us before ordering.

Boost control is about system design — not just component size.
