Description
Turbosmart Ecoboost BOV Kompact Shortie – Plumb Back
Turbosmart Ecoboost BOV Kompact Shortie Plumb Back is a direct bolt-on replacement Blow Off valve from Turbosmart. We can wave goodbye to un-reinforced diaphragms and weak plastic bodys that are well known to crack under the increased boost pressure of remaps, hybrid turbos, and all manner of exciting car tuning goodies. This billet aluminium Blow Off valve can easily handle over 30psi of boost. The most common fitment of this particular valve is the ever-popular KKK Turbo-equipped Ford Ecoboost engines. In addition, it is also the correct fitment to be a Borg Warner EFR BOV, and some other KKK turbochargers.
What does a BOV do?
BOV’s or Blow Off Valves are mechanical devices commonly pneumatically operated. However, it is increasingly common to be electronic actuated by way of a built-in solenoid. Their job is to release boost pressure from the car’s boost pipes between the turbo (compressor) and closed throttle body. High pressure when the throttle body is closed means that the turbo has a harder time getting back spinning (spooling) and building pressure again. The aim of the BOV, is to increase response times along with the added benefit of taking the strain off of your turbo. consequently, leading to a longer lifespan of the unit.
